Official Ordering Instructions
You must order your Australian Federal Police (AFP) certificate only through the official AFP portal. The Department of Home Affairs does not accept state-issued or commercial police certificates.
- Official Portal: AFP National Police Checks
- Standard Requirement: Use Code 33 (Immigration/Citizenship).
- Full Name History: Include every name you have ever been known by (aliases, maiden names, etc.).
- Verifiable Identity: The Department rejects certificates if names are missing or incorrect.
Non-Acceptable Certificates
Certificates ordered through Australia Post or third-party commercial websites are not valid for Australian visa applications. Ensure you only use the Converga portal linked above.
